Connecting Through Consoles

For participants in our school year program between the ages of 8 and 13, we offer the popular program, Connecting Through Consoles. Created and run by staff members Hope Notaro, M.A., LMHC and Tim Couto, M.A., this exciting new program addresses issues around social skills and social cognition through the use of video games. While parents may have highly divergent opinions regarding their children's strong focus on this pursuit, video games have become a huge part of the social landscape for kids, adolescents, and adults alike. Hope and Tim use this popular medium as a vehicle for helping kids address issues such as choosing a game together, working out rules and details, managing competition, tolerating frustration, and using teamwork.
